I’m lazy. I mean aside from the various health problems that explain a lot of my inability to do things, I’m also kind of lazy. I like things to be super easy with little to no effort. There I said it.
With that said, I know I’m not the only one. Here are my tips of how to ensure your face is well looked after.
Make sure you have the things you need.
Your skin can be damaged by so much in it’s environment; make-up, the sun, cold air of winter, even the dead skin cells. The first step to good skin, is making sure you have what you need to tackle everything that can affect your skin, even when lazy!
- Exfoliator – use one specifically for your face which will be less harsh to the skin.
- Cleanser – I’m currently in love with micellar water which removes make-up and dirt without needing to be rinsed off.
- Toner – If you suffer from blemishes or acne the best toner I’ve found is Body Shop’s Tea Tree Skin Clearing Mattifying Toner.
- Moisturiser – with UVA and UVB sun protection! My long time love is Simple’s Kind to Skin Protecting Moisture Cream.
Keep your cleanser, toner and some cotton pads on your bedside table.
I used to often forget about my skin care before bed and then was too lazy to get out of bed when I realised. Now, I keep my micellar water, tea tree toner and a pack of cotton pads on my bedside table and I haven’t gone one night without at least doing the majority of my skin care routine. Unsurprisingly, my skin is looking so much healthier and clearer every day.
Clear out your beauty supplies.
A little bit of effort for 30 seconds will make every morning and night so much easier. Take some time to clear out any old or unused products. I do this every 1-2 months. Stop using things that are past their use-by (make-up products will have a little icon with something like 12m or 9m written inside. This is how many months since it’s opened that it can be used for). You’ll also find it easier and quicker to identify what products you want to use.
Use the My Water app.
Drinking enough water is key to a lot of health and beauty goals. Even the most avid water drinker probably doesn’t drink enough. With this app you can set the time you wake up and go to bed, and the interval, for reminders throughout the day. The free version allows you to track water, tea and coffee, and shows which ml you should select for a cup or glass etc. Pay £3.99 for the full version to track a larger variety of drinks.
My favourite tip; get lots of sleep!
A true lazy girl’s best friend is her bed. Make sure you get 6-8 hours of sleep every night. I’m sure I don’t need to go over the benefits of a good nights sleep for your skin!
